Career Development Scheme:
The SPHCM is committed to ensuring that all staff members participate in the Career Development Scheme. Both Academic and General staff have opportunities for further career development, including training opportunities. The Head of School has agreed and allocated a sum of $1,000/staff member per year, for legitimate career development and/or conference attendance or training opportunities.
All staff are expected to arrange an annual appraisal and career development facilitated discussion. This will provide opportunities to negotiate with the supervisor of the staff member's specific work responsibilities, and the Head of School. This then provides an opportunity to reassess contributions to teaching, research and service, and to propose and negotiate any changes in the balance of these activities with the relevant authorities.
On Tuesday 10 June 2003, the Staff Development Unit and the Equity and Diversity Unit jointly presented to the School of Public Health and Community Medicine information about the Career Development Scheme and the Gender Equity Project conducted in the School of Public Health and Community Medicine.
