Improving Purchasing Update
Finance is currently working on a project which aims to improve purchasing, making it faster, simpler and more efficient. As part of the process the project has engaged a working party and a customer advisory group to identify concerns and benefits of potential new purchasing and expenses management systems.
The Faculty of Medicine has provided a representative for both groups who will provide valuable insight into the experience within the faculty.
As the project progresses there will be more updates as we move to adopting more standardised approaches to purchasing and expenses management.
If you have any queries on the project please contact the Project Manager, Ruth Sligo on x57624 or email

ITIP Funding for Projects in 2012 - Now Open for submissions
Dear All,
The Faculty ITIP Funding for Projects in 2012 Round 2 is now open for submissions.
Submissions are due by Friday 18th May 2012.
This is a great opportunity to put forward a new IT project or improvements to an existing IT project within the Faculty or in collaboration with other Faculties within UNSW. These projects can be research or teaching related. An emphasis on mobile applications (ie for iphones, ipads) and shared applications with other Faculties will have a better chance of being funded. Listed below are the main criteria the selection committee is looking for.
A further $650K (for projects up to $100K) can be allocated to projects which meet the acceptance criteria:
- Alignment with UNSW strategic priorities.
- Delivery of project outcomes across multiple Faculties.
- Level of innovation in the use of IT to solve a problem or in the implementation of new IT capabilities at UNSW.
- Value for money.
- Value as a pilot for a future system run across all/multiple Faculties.
- Ability to complete the project within the year requested.
Complete information, including dates, the criteria and the submission template can be found on the Faculty ITIP site: https://www.it.unsw.edu.au/about/projects/itip/index.html
