  • Pfizer Australia Senior Research Fellowships
1-2 Research Fellowships awarded annually to allow the successful applicant to continue their specific research program at an Australian university or research institution, by providing a 5-year grant . Applicants should have a research-based doctoral degree in a scientific or medically related discipline & ideally less than 10 year’s postdoctoral experience. As an indicative guide, the grant offers support to the individual at the level of Senior Lecturer, or occasionally, Reader salary range, with remaining funds used for other research related costs

International

  • Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP)
The HFSP supports novel, innovative and interdisciplinary basic research focused on the complex mechanisms of living organisms; topics range from molecular and cellular approaches to systems and cognitive neuroscience. A clear emphasis is placed on novel collaborations that bring biologists together with scientists from fields such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science and engineering to focus on problems at the frontier of the life sciences. HFSP supports only international, collaborative teams, with an emphasis on encouraging scientists early in their careers. Through the NHMRC, Australia is a member country of HFSP, enabling Australian researchers to participate in the Program as a Principle applicant. Long-Term Fellowships are available for young scientists with up to 3 years of postdoctoral research training in the life sciences. Applicants are expected to move into a new research field within the life sciences or into a different discipline while investigating a fundamental biological process.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Postdoctoral Visiting Fellowships provide the opportunity for recent doctoral degree recipients to enhance their research skills in the resource-rich National Institutes of Health (NIH) environment, which consists of more than 1200 laboratories devoted exclusively to biomedical research. To be eligible to apply for this program, candidates must hold a doctoral degree and have no more than five years of relevant research experience since receipt of their most recent doctoral degree.
