How to Apply and Lodge your Application - International Applicants

Notes:
1. ISAT Tests are held from 2 April until 26 October, 2012. However, not all test centres may be available for a test if application is made close to the closing date, so earlier application is recommended.
2. Applicants are advised to submit the documents as soon as possible because (1) interviews are held throughout most of the year and (2) there is a quota of only 70 places for international students for 2013 and there is the possibility that it may fill prior to application closing dates.
How to apply for entry in 2013
There are three steps that need to be completed by the dates specified below to fulfil the requirements of the UNSW Medicine admission process. For further information on the admission process, please see the section "
Selection Criteria".
Step 1- Application via UAC or UNSW Admissions
(a) Application via UAC
Applicants who are sitting an Australian or New Zealand Year 12 examination or the International Baccalaureate in 2012 (either in Australia, New Zealand or elsewhere) are required to put in an application through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). The application form will be available on the UAC website in August (see www.uac.edu.au. The last day to lodge the application on time is 28 September 2012.

(b) Application via UNSW Admissions
All other international students are required to put in an application through UNSW Admissions. The form can be completed online at www.apply.unsw.edu.au. The last day to lodge the application is 31 October 2012.
Step 2- ISAT (International Student Admissions Test
All international applicants are required to sit ISAT. To register for ISAT see www.isat.acer.edu.au. The test will be held at many venues across the world from 2 April until 26 October, 2012.
Step 3 - UNSW Medicine Application Form
Applicants are required to submit a UNSW Medicine Application Form. This form gives the Faculty contact details which allow easier communication with the applicant. It also includes questions on why they want to study medicine at UNSW, details of their relevant personal qualities and skills, their non-academic interests and activities and a brief description of their life experience. For final year high school students, schools will be asked to comment on the school-related activities and achievements. Schools will also be asked to submit predicted results for students sitting their final high school exams in 2012.
Please note that the information in this form is not used to select applicants for interview (with the exception of the school’s prediction of exam results). The information is used to set the context of the applicant’s interview. For more information on the telephone interview, please see the section Selection Criteria.
The UNSW Medicine Application Form became available on the Faculty’s website on March 7 and must be submitted to the Faculty before an interview can take place.
