Instructional Development Team
The Instructional Development Team (IDT) provides expertise in the areas of Instructional Design and Course Development and Production. This expertise includes the use of Curriculum and Assessment Methodologies, e-Learning strategies, Information Technologies and Website Design to support innovative learning and teaching approaches and knowledge management.
The IDT has been established to resource educational development across the School. It provides advice to academic staff on evidence informed practice in learning and teaching methodologies and curriculum through to the use of educational technologies and the production of learning resources and course materials for face to face and online environments.
The IDT provides professional staff development resources in the design, development and evaluation of the School’s courses for face to face, blended and distance delivery as well as residential workshops and short courses. The IDT conducts ongoing evaluation and quality improvement processes in the design and production of course resources and program delivery as part of seeking to enhance our students’ learning experiences and outcomes.
The IDT undertakes research in the area of learning and teaching scholarship in postgraduate professional education and is part of a number of communities of practice within the university on curriculum design, e-learning and the use of emerging educational technologies.
