Telma Corte Real de Oliveira
Master of International Pulic Health / Master of Health Management (Dual Degree)

I was working for the World Health Organization in Timor-Leste when I decided that I would like to study at UNSW, and applied for a scholarship with AusAID. I have always been interested in international public health and health management and the health system in Timor-Leste is one of my main concerns. I decided to specialise in this area to enable me to better assist the health system.

Sangnim Lee
Master of Public Health (Extension)

Originally trained as a nurse, I was then involved in the health programs of a NGO for HIV and migrants' health issues in both Thailand and Japan for the last seven years and decided that I wanted to develop research skills for my career. I completed the Master of Public Health (MPH) first. I then transferred to the MPH (Extension) which allowed me dedicated time to concentrate on my research project.

Master of Health Management

I have been an occupational therapist for the past 6 years and have worked within the health sector for 11 years. Although I love being a clinician and having daily contact with clients, I felt a need to learn broader management skills that would enable me to make a difference at a higher systems level.

Vrushali Knot
Master of International Public Health / Master of Health Management (Dual Degree)

I chose a dual public health/management degree as a progression in my career from clinical work as a physiotherapist to non-clinical roles in health. After extensive research into a number of programs in the eastern states, I selected the MIPH/MHM program at UNSW for three main reasons: the flexibility of studying a combined health and management program, the extensive experience of the faculty staff, and the wide range of interesting and challenging electives available.
